I am in the market for new speakers...

...but need help.

I have an amp that I inhertited, a DA3000ES and I need some bookshelf speakers to pair with it (on a budget)

I am looking at some on the reccomended list:

NHT Super Zero, Energy cb-10, PSB alpha 1, PSB Image B6, Boston Accoustic A25 and Mordaunt-Short Carnival 2.  That amp produces 150w per channel, that means i could only get the PSB image b6?  Even that is pushing it because that is their max power handling.  I was leaning towards the Super zero to pair it with the super 8.

I have been out of the game for a while, so pardon my ignorance.

Thanks in advance.

Mike

any

you can use any of those speakers with that receiver.  The "power handling" rating does NOT need to match the receiver's output power, although it is understandable that people get confused about these two, mostly unrelated terms.  150Wpch will give sufficient power and sufficient headroom on any of those speakers, or virtually any other speaker.

Thank you for your response.

Thank you for your response.  I think I reasoned that out talking to my dad, but it is nice to get the confirmation.

I wound up going with the PSB Image B6, C5 center and SubSeries 200.

Thanks again.

Nice speakers, bet you'll like them. Pay attn/read manual for setting up the sub, since setup affects your system sound a lot.
