A Farewell To Verbal Arms!

I have decided to spend my free time devoting my energy toward my family and community. These forums seem to bring out the worst in everyone and very infrequently enlighten. The world is what we make of it, and I will try to make it a better place for my children and for all those souls that have yet to enter this world. They will inoccently expect freedom, personal rights of expression, thought and religion. They will wish to be able to pursue their dreams unhindered, and not to live under the oppressive atmosphere of an elitist "Nanny State". I love my country, my family and the basic rights which we are gauranteed by our creator. Those outside the USA used to believe in individual rights and freedoms and in something greater than themselves as well. More and more however, people are allowing their humanity to be diminished and userped by those people of power that would seek to exchange their identity and self worth for a life of insulated subserviance. Darkness has been the normal state of affairs for most of mankinds existence on this planet. America has been one of the few ideas that has helped to beat back the encroaching darkness of tyrrany. What so many take for granted today is unique and short lived and will surely perish at the hands of those whom we relinquish our individuality and creativitity...to those who would control every aspect of our lives.

Your farewell post started so well

But how anyone can write the phrase "elitist nanny state" with a straight face is beyond me.
What does it mean?
Only the elite are nannyed?
Or what?
It just reads like a random group of words taken from the wingnut lexicon and thrown randomly on the table.
I hope you avoid the advantages a government run by he people for the people (democracy...remember it?)can give you and you fall into the loving arms of the corporate non-elite in whose control you so clearly desire to be.

Re: Your farewell post started so well

It's a republic my lefty friend and as I have noted before, your narrowly focused contemporary world view blinds you to the inevitabilities it will wrought. Handing over an ever increasing degree of power and control to any government will always lead to more and more corruption and the relinquishment of individual freedoms. HISTORY TELLS THE STORY...to ignore it is unforgiveable! Currently we have "Elitists" in charge of our government. People who have no practical experience whatsoever regarding the challenges we face at home and abroad. All they have is a rigid ideology that is in opposition to what history tells us will work. My words are my own thoughts and no one elses....FYI, I delete the wingnut e-mails wthout even opening them. It continues to amaze me however how little substance you offer. A mirror really would be helpful for you.

"Currently we have "Elitists" in charge of our government.": the

Damn, you are one flustered right winger, aren't you.
You actually remind me of Baldrick at Blackadder's court marshal for shooting a pigeon.
Yes, if it hadn't been for a Democrat president you'd never have had the recession would you?
Maybe you have a different time stream where you come from or maybe it's just dried up altogether.
Whatever, you seem unable to see any fault in your own ideology which is a shame really because it is selling you right up the river as I type and has been doing so for probably 100 years.
But there you go... you can live in a hole in the ground and I'll carry on in the sunshine, regardless of your flapping and puffing.
Please do enjoy the dirt.

Please do enjoy youself! I know just how important that is to you and let me say, what a tremendously noble thing it is that you pursue. In addition, I would like to thank you so much for offering nothing meaningfull to any of our discussions here...it's truly been a great pleasure to have known you. Go forward into the sunshine my friend from Hell! No matter what progressive fascist regime would take over the globe, I'm sure you'll fit right in. Someday soon, I'm sure we will all be taught how to think just like you and learn to love it. It will be glorious

Don't expect so much from a hot and bothered time traveller!

"Back to the 18th century!" is the rallying call from their prospective leaders.
"Not till tea is served" is the usual reply from the self styled tea potters.
The right wing are nothing is not perversely masochistic.

It is more direct somehow, isn't it I have really tried to get something out of our enigmatic primate poster. He actually thinks my references to historical precedent are limited to the 18th century ("Ozziefromhell" or OFH, also assumes I like to Tea Party). I'm not a loon or a wingnut, just someone who can grasp reality and connect the dots. OFH confuses his ignorance with bliss. Must be nice growing up in the 20th century having learned so little about human nature (never mind all the history lessons he skipped)...certainly is less stressfull that way. At least until the "Party" turns it's attentions on you and your loved ones (OFH need not worry about the latter I guess).

I'd say the truth more likely resides in the middle!

On the worrisome side, it's always the loons and wingnuts who claim to be the ones who can grasp reality and connect the dots.

It's more your failure to grasp vocabulary and not about grammar nor syntax.

I'm glad to see you're going to stay. Remember, this is just mindless entertainment. The guy from Australia is a perfect example. We've seen losers like him come and go. Play with him like his cat plays with a dead bird. He probably only has his cats going for him. Not that there is anything wrong with that. Now, I'm going back to the Weather Channel and listen to those southern people talk about the tornado that just knocked down their houses....

I'm talking about this century and what's happening right now you fool. Were you really that insulated from reality growing up? I'm becoming very suspicious of your background. Grew up well to do? I think he is behind the, "Just Stupid" door. The French came up with the Guillotine for people like him. Those were the good old days. They sent the poor to French Guiana to work to death.

Just got back from the firing range. Everything is on schedule. We got to figure out a way to get rid of that old fart with the hunchback. He don't like me. I told him this morning, "we could do something about that", pointing at his hunchback. Fucking range bum.

"... and what's happening right now": well you could have fooled

You seem stuck in that far right American paranoia about the effects of organised populations (ie the government) and the way you fear its ability to limit the excesses of the corporate world.
The way you try to put it as some kind of "personal freedom" heroic stance is plainly ridiculous.
It's actually quite funny but I get the impression you expect to be taken seriously!

As we speak, a handful of our representatives are trying to circumvent our constitution by passing the health care bill without actually voting to pass it! They want to pass an amendments bill to the health care bill, which assumes the health care bill was passed. By voting on the amendments bill, the health care bill will be considered passed. This has never been done before and is probably illegal and it is certainly against the will of the majority. Does that sound like the type of government you would like to have? If it is, I feel sorry for you.

good, they damn well should have. Religion is strong in the south, traditional morals/ethics (ie men should be with women ) are the rope that holds it all together. not that id expect any poofter lefty twunt to understand that. I just hope to God you never end up down in the Southern US. You wouldn't fare too well.

your america bashing has gotten past the cute and boring phase, and is now fucking annoying. why dont you take your limp wristed leftist sermons elsewhere? wont any australian forums have you?

makes me sick.. instead of preserving the rich heritage of the south, which has at is core, a strong religious identity, long standing traditions, morals... liberal cocks try to pollute it..try to make it look like san fanfuckingfrisco

it is beautiful as it is. leave it the hell alone. you want progressive, left sympathy?? get the hell out. go to san fran or massachussets...or amsterdam. they are trying to destroy the southern heritage and that pisses me off.
