the people at "acoustic sounds" in salena, kansas bought a very large collection last year and i thought they were going to catalog it and sell it off through their website and catalog, but i wonder if this is possibly it? i remember that it was in the many thousands, but thought it was just vinyl. anyone with any info?
They are still advertising that they are cataloging their new inventory. Their new inventory numbers in the "tens of thousands". Not 1.5 million LPs.
Robert Baird writes about this in his May issue "Aural Robert." It's a bit of a sad story.
You can find more info here and here and a few other places, I'm sure.
Acoustic Sounds should get this also, I read the Library of congress or some such entiory was sorta interested since it's historical stuff in there, doesn't the Library of congress have one or 2 of every record evr made or something, this could fill in the gaps.
Acoustic Sounds would just sell it off one by one. It should be archived. This is an excellent collection.
