AVR 300 vs Outlaw Seperates!!!

Hey; I need some clear help on what could be a "better" system; a Arcam AVR300 receiver or an Outlaw Seperates system for the same price; I have music as a priority (esp. dvd-audio & sacd)but also enjoy movies. Gallo or Newform Research speakers.
Feedback????

Re: AVR 300 vs Outlaw Seperates!!!

Sorry, there is no "clear" help. I'm anguishing over the Arcam versus the Denon 3806 at half the price, with a ton of clearly superior features, in particular auto calibration, room equalization, firewire or D-link, and HDMI, plus more wattage! The Outlaw will smoke the Arcam on features as well but only has DVI but that's at least a step up from the Arcams Component video. But damn....that Arcam does music RIGHT! If music is your priority, make sure you give the Arcam a serious audition before you buy. Kal Rubinsons January column in Sphile on the Denons is a good read with a follow up due in the next issue.

I honestly don't care much about the video switching, etc., as I will be using the recievr or pre/pro for audio only unless I find a HUGE benefit vidoe-wise; I would rather keep things as direct as possible. I too was looking at the 3806, as I wil be getting the Denon 3910 dvd player (I'm a HUGE sacd / dvd-audio fan. ...... unfort. the damn i-pod crap may eliminate audiophile recordings/formats such as these ...
