Unfortunately, when something is part of a regular column it is not categorized by Stereophile as a "review" and put into the archives.
I thought those speakers came out in 1999, but I could be mistaken.
When I listened to them I thought they had a nice midrange IF they were partnered with either a laid-back tube amp or a very good solid-state amplifier, but not so good with some solid-state amplifiers. You have to be careful about what you drive them with.
They also do not have very much bass extension, so many people would want to use a subwoofer with them.
...it could have been 1999? Apparently it worked well with 'syrupy' CJ PP el34 amp. Thanks for the reply! The search is on.
