High-Performance Affordable Speakers from DCM

HE 2007 had, as expected, some very expensive equipment being demonstrated, but there were also some modest-priced and still very–good-sounding systems. One of these was the system in the DCM room, based on the DCM TFE 200, a substantial floor-standing speaker priced at just $1000/pair. With a Jolida CD player and integrated amp, the total price for the system was under $3000—and that was including $200's worth of cables from Esoteric Audio. The Man in Black is Al Congdon of DCM.

I heard these in person and commented to Al how great these were, and could not believe the retail price of these. These sounded much better than speakers at the show costing $5k-10k or more. I would consdier buying these in the future. Great bass, excellent dynamics and depth.

I would love to hear a pair as I am about to purchase a pair of NHT classic 4's for the same amt. I would also love a review by TAS!

After listening to many speakers that day priced over $10,000 a pair, these sounded really, really good. I would definitely consider a pair of these if I were looking for speakers under $1,000. My friend agreed that these were terrific speakers for the price.
