Things in consumer electronics is always improving, getting better and cheaper, why wait, HD is terrific, once you go HD, regular OLD ANALOG tv is unwatchable. If you really want to wait for Ultra HD II in about 10 years...but how long will you wait? And never get in on the stuff, don't wait buy HD.
Thanks, but was already familiar with the concept of progress. Was wondering if anyone can tell me if UDTV will actually be on the market within 1-2 years? My source said yes, but I don't know if he's for real.
From what I understand, the hope is the UHDV will have an international standard set by 2015. That is, there isn't even a standard yet. Even then, I suspect it will be years before stations start converting from HDTV to UHDV. And you know how hoped-for estimates go...
On a small 60" screen 720p is terrific, no comparison with NTSC. No need for 1080p, really, unless the source is a computer. In my case anyway I stopped cable 10 years ago and never regretted. Who needs UDTV to watch Barbara Wawa and Sam Donaldson??
Cus cable is full of HD stuff, HD Discover etc Voooom networks, lotsa great stuff...and getting better, 1080i is fine fills teh entire screen could you really tell between 1080i and 1080P probably not....analog tv is unwatchable, it's the vinyl of video
Hey, one out of three addressed my question! Judicata, thank you. Others: blab on...
You're welcome.
I guess I see this as a question about when to buy a TV. DUP sees "should I buy this Television, which displays video" as "please come and tell me how vinyl sucks."
This is an AUDIO forum, do you understand hyperbole? Guess not.....
Uh, huh. So "Audio forum" == "Every thread is one in which someone invites me to opine on vinyl/analog media." Sorry - not convinced.
