Got mine yesterday, didn't open it yet. I do have the CD/DVD-A version also. But if I have the CD and DVD-A versions, maybe I'll leave the LP version sealed, and in 50 years, it will be worth.....$200? Or be demanded I turn it back in. the the old vinyl/oil based products police. Cus' ain't in 50 years we are out of oil, and they will need to beging to recycle old LP's into fuel for vehicles, and heating? Since the LP is just a reincarnated DINOSAUR. Which became a DINOSAUR itself. Recycling that's why the earth is ROUND, things keep coming back sooner or later. But the booklet has to be better than the CD or DVD-A version right? Why can't they re issue just the stright albums in SACD? These mixes can get kinda weird, when you are so use to a certain flow of the songs on the albums. Hey George, just make all the stuff in SACD, the Stones did,Bob Dylan did. Yoko doesn't have to approve does she?
I bought this and listened to it for the first time last night. I was overwhelmed! The sound quality is the best I have ever heard from a Beatles recording! The mash-up is cool in some parts and a little forced in others. Some really good transitions, some not so good. I hope that Gilles Martin does a remaster of the entire catalogue before they stop manufacturing CDs. PLEASE!!
DUP...You were the guy at Woodstock that ate all the BROWN ACID, right? Because this is the Beatles "Love" thread, not the psycho-vinyl-hater thread.
BTW- I really liked the production of the DVD-Audio on this album. I sincerely hope more Beatles' albums get the high rez treatment. I have several Beatle cd's including Sgt. Peppers that are not so good. If anyone knows of any other well-produced Beatles' issues, please advise, thank you.
