The original article was a wonderful read, but, seeing a couple of these photos really conveys the sense of scale at play. Man, those things are big.

Whew! I'm finally caught up with the blog, apart from watching the Hans Bethe vids (but, they're downloaded to my hard drive to watch at another time.) It's tough keeping up with you after missing a week of posts!

Incredible. Man, talk about epic structures...I wonder if, in 4,000 years, archaeologists will find some of those and proclaim," ""No way people could have built those babies!"" I wonder if george Lucas saw that before he created the imagery of those desert midget scavenger guys and their giant land ship.
