No, one can't! And my sons, representing the next generation of Shatner provoked head scratchers (should I laugh or cry?) enjoyed it too. Ever hear Bill and Ben Folds together?
Yes, I did and liked the result. Not enough to listen to it a second time," but in the ""gotta give them props"" way.I was a huge Star Trek fan and bought the LPs of Shatner and Nimoy (I was young and records were only $2.99). These days", what I find impressive about Shatner is that he doesn't care that some people laugh at himhe's kept working and he's continued to do essentially what he has wanted. That's success by any definition. And say what you will about his acting chops, I got all misty-eyed when Kirk died.
Yup, it's hard not to have a soft spot for him, isn't it? He really does have a sense of humour about himself that is very endearing. His latest car commercial, where he tries to come off as an ordinary, mind your pennies kinda guy whilst in the background the delivery boys are carrying a gigantic new throne into his fabulous mansion still makes me chuckle every time I see it...I remember audio taping episodes of Star Trek on my open reel tape recorder, positioning the mic in front of the TV and telling everybody to be quiet...
