The Audiophillie Music Awards For Excellence In Recorded Sound

In our March 2010 issue, Steve Guttenberg offered an excellent As We See It, detailing his newly rekindled relationship with vinyl playback. Over at CNET, Steve is known as the Audiophiliac, discussing a wide range of news, events, and ideas, all in the worlds of music and hi-fi. Now the Audiophiliac and his colleagues at the 404 Podcast present the Audiophillie Awards: They’re asking recording engineers and hobbyists of all levels to submit their best work, with the chance to win some fun prizes.

There have always been good- and bad-sounding recordings, and advances in technology haven't really tilted the balance all that much, but they've changed the playing field. Musicians and bands no longer have to go into a high-priced studio to make a decent recording. If you fancy yourself as any kind of recording engineer here's your chance to strut your stuff.

Submissions (on CD only, with a maximum of three tracks) are due to the Audiophiliac by April 12. For complete contest rules and all other details, click here.
