Free Stuff at Home Entertainment Expo

During this week's Home Entertainment Expo, high-tech entertainment fans will get to enjoy some of the best audio and video gear to be found on the planet. A few lucky ones will get to take some of it home—free.

Monster Cable will give away a Monster Home Theatre Reference PowerCenter™ HTS 5100 every day the show is open to the public—Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. The HTS 5100 is an advanced AC power filter featuring Monster's proprietary "Stage 4 v2.0" isolation and filter technology, claimed to prevent AC power line noise from affecting component performance.

Attendees need only drop their business cards in the box at the Monster Booth. A random drawing each evening will determine the winners, whose PowerCenters will be shipped to them after the show. The exact time for the drawings will be announced at the show.

At the Westin–St. Francis, Monster Cable will have exhibits in the MacArthur Room and the Georgian Room. The company is also sponsoring a press luncheon on Thursday, June 5, where "head monster" Noel Lee will give a talk "about several rapidly converging new technologies that will change the very nature of the business," according to a May 31 announcement.

Red Rose Music will be giving away one of its "Spirit" audio system on Sunday, June 8. The Spirit system consists of a compact integrated amplifier, a pair of mini-monitors, and a 15' pair of 336J speaker cables. "This is the same system sold by Sharper Image for $2000," said Red Rose vice president of global sales and marketing Byron Collett.

To enter the Red Rose giveaway, stop by booth 214 and drop your business card in the box. The winner will be free to choose speakers in either rosewood veneer or French sycamore, Collett added.
