I bought a stereo at Radio Shack back in like 1983, maybe a Jenson or something cheap. I got complaints from the neighbors.

I bought an entry level Polk speaker system with subwoofer (T50?) and a 100x2 Sony receiver and it's maybe 1/3 the volume of that cheap stereo. Did home audio change?? Seems 100 watts is about the max watts available and Polk should be good quality speakers. Why so quiet??

I tried switching the polarity of the subwoofer.
