Then I woke up, went next door and got laid...much more fun, cheaper, and although in those days it did not last so long as the average LP, you always came away thinking an upgrade was already a good idea...technology was going to be there all my life but youth and a full wallet chasing dreams such as Woodstock or the first IoW concert were but a fleeting opportunity not to be missed...

I am now older, definitely no wiser and I take coffee as it comes with no milk or sugar...

Well, I guess this will date me, but I precede the "brushed alumunium" days. I'm more of a baked grey enamel and bare metal guy.

I can remember my dad being skeptical of this new "stereo" gimmick.

Now that I have enough money, but at the same time enough disgust of the marketing B.S. that I am reverting back to my earlier ways and building my own stuff. Can't impress my friends though. Not a recognized brand name, don't want to hear about it.

Still got one...plays 78's a treat...and still got a Lloyds machine which even plays 8 tracks also...dad and I never shared the same tastes...his was a huge brown bakelite radio and that was it, full stop.

Never did much cranking, too young, but I watched my cousins sister when I used to go on hols to their farm for the summer...still recall it now...huge horn (most of the time) and amazing music...Elvis on 78, gee them were the days...and when it came to milking the cows, wow, changed me for life!

DAT'S a GUD VON!!! Actually MF will of course hear the difference between a playback BEAK of the WoddPecker and a BlueJay beak. But he will of course hear the sonic slowness of the TurtleTurntable.
