Martin Logans!!!! I love my Logans, they sound better than they look. You can have my wife, but don't even think about my Martin Logans!:)

Monitor Audio Monitor 3. A slim, sealed box floor-stander with the accuracy of a monitor and a bass that goes down to 40Hz. In a small room, with my Jadis Orchestra, it makes music in spades. Soundstage is frighteningly real. And I don't have to bother much with placement (the room is 18*12*11 SMALL!). The British make the best mid-fi loudspeakers period.

I listen to ProAc Response 2.5 speakers. With Theta Digital and Audio Research feeding them, they produce a great sound. Convincing vocals, wide and deep sound stage and fantastic transparency. You can also buy them in a range of finishes to make them domestically acceptable pieces of furniture! I love them and recommend them very highly.

Celestion A3. I love their clean, fast sound and their beautiful shape and finish. A3 are rather fast, dry and slightly bright speakers and should be carefully matched with the rest of the system. Sometimes I wish for softer treble than that produced by A3's titanium domes. But then I put on a CD where the treble is soft or muddy and Celestion approach really helps. There's no such thing as a speaker for every occasion (recording?), I guess.

Maggies---for their sheer transparency and accurate rendition of the frequency spectrum. As a standby for any emergencies I use a baby Mission (760iSE).

KEF RDM Two Excellent detail + dynamic + clear + sweet - though it took more than six months for them to relax and get the this sound. Lacks deep bass

I have 3 pairs of speakers. My first was the Thiel 1.5 and I still keep it for its imaging qualities and overall musicality. I then bought the ProAc 3.5 cos there is such magic in the mids especially with vocals that I just had to own one. I now listen to my friend's Merlin VSM, on loan indefinitely, and I find these champions at soundstaging and imaging. The highs are really wonderful and they mate very well with my Bel Canto Orfeo60 SE amps. Everyday is magic day. Absolutely delicious mids and when coupled with the Rel Storm subwoofers ( yes, two ) which blend especially well, I am on cloud nine everyday.

ATC 50SCM SL Why? 1. Speakers don't get much better in the medium sized speaker area ( IMHO ). 2. I don't have to spend money on power amplification to a similar standard ( for those that don't know these are active speakers with 350watts of class amplification built in ) 3. They are a long term buy ( the need to upgrade is nearly obviated ). 4. Whilst expensive they offer good value at their price ( in the UK though their U.S price is a bit daunting).

Kef reference 107 still sounds great

My primary speakers are 20-year-old DCM Corporation Time Windows. They were a good value when they were new, but I need an upgrade. My secondary speakers are Mission Cyrus. Pretty good for $600 when they were bought 5 years ago.

I listen to Spendor 2/3 speakers driven by a Cary 300SEI integrated amp. Though low-powered, the amp drives the speakers just fine, due to the speakers' consistantly high impedence curve. I wish that Stereophile would review more Spendor speakers, as they are some of the sweetest sounding products out there. They have a very natural presentation, and do very little wrong. They sound great with tubes!

I have two systems: one has Meadowlark Kestrels and the main system has Meadowlark Shearwaters. Do I have to say that I like Meadowlark speakers? They are marvelous for tubes, a wide soundstage, great bass and heavenly midrange (for jazz or female voices you won't find a better speaker). One of the best bargains in speaker world!

My audio-only system has Thiel CS 6 speakers which I am very pleased with. They are driven by cj and Cal Audio electronics. The Thiels have good solid bass and relatively sweet mid range and highs. I noticed that CD's that were unlistenable before now sound pretty good. For home theater, which I listen to much less than the audio-only system, I have Paradigm Titans, Atoms and PS-1200 subwoofer. They have a reasonably good sound for a reasonable price.

DM601 monitors which are great, an old Harman Kardon integrated amp (looking for a new amp but poor), an old Philips series 900 cd changer (want to replace that too), and a great Dual turntable (my pride and joy) that was purchased in Germany. The replacement products that I have in mind are an Arcam integrated amp and a California Audio Labs or Rotel Cd changer

Dahlquist DQM-9 with Nextel finish and DQM stands. A 3-way speaker with 11" woofer, 5" midrange and 1" silk dome tweeter. 28 - 22,000 Hz frequency response. They are getting old (14 years) but still are a great sounding pair of full range speakers.

I've used many, but for me the one that is allways welcome, is Apogee Duetta Sigs. Driven by Bryston 7Bst's and cables by Kimber. Pre is Melos SHA gold and sources are Rega Planet for CD & a DarkStar TT w/a Sure V15....... this always brings smiles to me face when I come come home and put it on.

TOTEM MODEL 1's. Love 'em but I need to upgrade to some REAL electronics!

Monitor Audio Studio 6 minimonitors, bi-wired with Kimber 8tc, and a pair of Kinergetics Research SW 800 MT subwoofers. I would love a to see a review of these subs in Stereophile sometime soon, by the way . . .
