Listening to music in excellent sound with the convenience of all my music available and no cleaning of records, wow, flutter, tracking error, etc.

I'm looking for a very good CD player that looks gorgeous and sounds detailed and smooth, at the same time (obviously) with full impact. (Something not easy to find, perhaps the Gryphon Mikado 32-bit or Simaudio Moon 750D?) Waiting to make such a hard decision, I still listen to music with my Gyrodec V/SMEV/Koetsu,Krell KRC2/KSA100S, and MartinLogan Summits.

I am just in the process of changing over to using my PC as a music server. I bought one of your recommended DA converters. In the winter months, I spin records and use my tube amp and tube preamp, which helps keep the home warm.

The component that I use daily is my Krell KPS-25SC CD/preamplifier. This is connected to my computer, Oracle turntable, Nakamichi Dragon cassette player, Pioneer laser disc player, and, of course, to the two Krell 650M monoblock amplifiers via my Goldline Digital Parametric Equalizer. I cannot live without it. Even though the Krell KPS25 is rock solid and reliable, it has seen one major service call already from extensive use. Now when I don't use it, I don't let it just stand-by, but turn off the major power switch at the back. Hopefully, it will serve me for a longer period of time.

My music collection mostly is high-resolution recordings from Internet downloads, and played on Media Server at 96kHz or above.

Servers are too geeky and turntables are obsolete.

Vinyl invites intimacy.

Time is the most expensive good in life, so it is also in hi-fi. Thus, I prefer not to waste it listening to other sources than vinyl.

Actually it is a tie between the turntable and the SACD/DVD-Audio player, because I love both.

I predominantly play SACD and CD.

Serious listening is mostly through a McIntosh MS300 server and MDA1000 DAC. Casual listening is mostly streaming Pandora through Sonos. Glorious.

Primarily an SACD player.

I actually use an older DVD player as a CD player. I also use my PC a lot with the Audigy Platinum card connected to my 2 channel stereo system.
