Sticky Fingers by the Rolling Stones. The Bob Ludwig remaster on cd is one of the best sounding discs I have ever heard. The closest thing to vinyl I have ever heard on cd. Makes me wonder at the necessity of higher rez digital format.

My lovely and fantastic wife got new Svetlana tubes for my JoLida 302a -- and a big hug and kiss for the effort! Talk about transformation! Compared with the original Chinese tubes, these are amazing. Thankfully, so is she!

I got nothing for the stereo, but I bought the kids a DVD player. Great picture, better sound than VHS. So why do I feel used?

A Monster HTS 2000 power conditioner, and two MIT Z series AC power cords as well. One for the CD player and one for the Amp. I never thought that an AC upgrade would make this much of a difference in the overall sound quality but I was wrong. Now that I have had a chance to hear them in my system, I wonder how I ever got along without them.

I suppose I could have easily voted the other way. However, with all of the new technology available today, such as SACD and DAD, I opted to put my money into software so that I could have the opportunity to listen to those wonderful tried and true lps. I'm certainly not going to invest $5k into a format that might go the way of the quadrophonic sound of the '70s. There are some fabulous lps out there, and although many of the originals are quite expensive, they are worth their weight in gold. So while others are almost blindly changing their listening formats, I'm spinning those lumps of vinyl and savoring every second of my listening experience.
