Vandersteen treo ct need advice

Hello I'm probably going to purchase the treo ct to replace my 3.0 Theil ( yes > 30 yr old) My amp & pre amp is Tandberg 30008 A & 30006 A ( 150 watts at 8 ohm) Am I doing an injustice to the treos or do I need new equipment........................... I am considering the Rotel 1590 MK II & 1582 II are these up to the quality of the treos?

I'm a CD guy about 2,000 all classical and stream Tidal using my i pad wired to a rotel dac rdd 1580

I need a pre or integrated amp with a tone control due to a benign tumor in my R ear which distorts high so I tone them down a small amt. NO getting around this ( acoustic neuroma .... treat it & loose all hearing on R)

thanks David I

Please upgrade your amplification beyond the Rotels...

That being said, the Treos are amazing and very natural speakers and you should listen to your Tandbergs through them first. I would then go on an auditioning spree listening to amp comparable to the Rotels, within NAD, Parasound, Benchmark, etc. There are so many brands to consider these days.

I love Rotel and have owned an integrated amp of there's back in the 80's. There is just so much competition for great sound, that you should read the latest Recommended Components under integrated amps as well. Better bang for the dollar and one less set of cables. Definitely spend $1000 on cables and the same for speaker cables at this price point. If you are still using cables from back then, def look again. All of audio has come a long way since then.

But, if you cannot audition, deal with an online retailer that has at least a month for returns and no restock fee. Take your time, as the new speakers are utterly new to you and will be a great upgrade.

Theils are great speakers but technology has moved on... Compare various old Vandy's vs. the current models. No small differences.
