I'm in. When it comes to high quality speakers, I'm in the passive camp for midwoofers and tweeters with active speakers being confined to subwoofers. It would be real interesting to see how these sound compared to my current passive desktop speakers.

The specs sound very tempting - a pair of self powered bookshelf speakers that perform as well as some 10" units. A fine prize, indeed.
I was flying through the NY Audio show on the last day in the last 2 minutes before closing. That's when my eye saw these tiny guys on stands in a room void of all equipment. I thought no way these guys came close in sales to pay for this room. These tiny things against the best in audio?
Would you believe it I bought em -- and it was the only time I ever bought from an audio show. When he "hit play" I immediately heard things sound better than my friend's room down the hall where the stuff plugged in exceeded $25k.
Good speakers aren't enough to get the audiophile experience. As tempted as I was to gift a friend an upgrade, I knew full well that the value would never be fully realized if my friend didn't spend on the other components. These speakers are the cheapest path to experiencing correct playback. There is a low latency shortest-signal-path magic to integrated components (Devialet probably had the best sound at the show) and Vanatoo is fully exploiting that.
My GF's mother is a musician and she totally gets the Vanatoos I gifted her. My cousin is also a musician so if the lottery gods are kind to me then he too will experience the audiophile bug this xmas.
I haven't gotten new speakers in 10 years! Help!
