SAS Audio:
You've been here for a long time as I have.
I can't persuade the powers-at-be to rectify my new-thread creation problem, so requesting an upload function is likely to get ignored.[Or maybe not -- Austin Powers, Intn'l Man of Mystery may LIKE you]
To post photos, you must know how to edit some HTML code. But once you post a photo, you can no longer add hyperlinks -- it's that Filtered HTML vs Plain Text "Text Format" option.
The hassle barriers baked into the Stereophile forum engine may be by design??? MAYBE ... Too much attention at the Forum may [per conspiracy theory!!] rob attention from the print magazine and main website blogs and articles.
Stereophile could always run ads on this forum. The Forum traffic on places like ASR and DIY Audio is quite substantial. And they run ads and accept donations.
Meanwhile ...
My latest DIY project ...
I think I will have to forget it. Not versed enough in computers.
Thanks for response.

Stereophile has "Gallaries" section, which exists for the purpose of uploading images. Follow the following link.
https://www.stereophile.com/galleries
If you upload an image there, then you should be able to show that image here using an HTML tag. For example, the image shown below is a semi-randomly chosen image that someone uploaded to "Gallaries", so it already exists in that section, and I have included it here using an allowed HTML tag.
I use postimages
https://postimages.org/
It's free and it will generate the HTML code, so you just copy and paste, here into this forum. Use the Filtered HTML option next to "Text format"
Given the persistent issue with new-thread creation and the apparent challenges in persuading the powers-that-be, perhaps we can collectively explore alternative solutions. A thoughtful suggestion is introducing an upload function, which could potentially circumvent the roadblock. Additionally, sharing insights on the HTML code requirement for photo posts and the subsequent limitation on hyperlinks is valuable feedback for the community and administrators. It's intriguing to ponder whether these intricacies in the Stereophile forum engine are intentional or if there's room for improvement. Considering the substantial traffic on other forums that successfully run ads and accept donations, proposing a similar strategy for Stereophile could be a viable avenue to explore. Let's open up a constructive discussion on these ideas to enhance the overall forum experience for everyone.
