Hi Pete,
Actually the test is quite flawed.
Quote:
A random series of 20 trials was conducted while Remington cued up the turntable (playing a female vocalist) on each occasion, as he did throughout the day. Tiefenbrun's result: 10 correct responses in 20 trials, an outcome which shows no ability to discriminate between the two situations.
Quote:
Ten trials were conducted during which Tiefenbrun achieved a score of 5 correct out of 10. Again, this demonstrates no discrimination ability beyond what one would expect purely on the basis of chance.
This is a poor example of a test since "Habituation to Stimuli" was not accounted for by the fact they did 20, then 10 ABs per session. After about 3-4 ABs, the test becomes a guess because of "habituation to stimuli", and therefore chance; so the results are skewed toward no sonic change. 10-20 ABs per session is also not real world.
Its too bad they did not break down the results per individual AB to see the results of each AB.
Cheers.

Not to worry , nc. I think it's quite clear you were simply refuting unwarranted attacks and accusations.
