Here's an interesting and topical piece that is relevant to our discussion. I sure do have a hard time figuring out the BBC sometimes.

I thought monty posted a poll once and it turned out most members were overwhelmingly conservative. Well, if this doesn't beat all. It's like hitting yourself in the forehead with a hammer. Politics in a audio equipment rag. It's so stupid even a caveman can do it. Gore is a hypocrite. I would not purchase a damn thing based on his advice. That female dog is flying all over the world to promote his fat overeating fat-body buttocks. Here is what I would like to do to Gore-more Pyle...

"I would not buy a damn thing from him (Gore)"

Really? You wouldn't buy anything from Big Al? I had him plan out my entire stereo system, and then help me make a Green listening room complete with methane based power generators. I also have him buy all my music for me each month (with Tipper making sure the lyrics are clean) too. Heheh......

I'll say it again- that article had about one line mentioning Gore, and the rest was just a bunch of hippies who are mostly running Green music companies because they hardly sell enough to matter. But, really, isn't all this anger just a distraction from any relevant critique of the Stereophile's actual writing or reviews? There's nothing better to talk about in the entire issue? I wouldn't have even noticed the article had I not been tipped off by all the noise on the forums. I mean, one article that barely skims the surface of politics does not a liberal rag make.

I just needed some backdrop so I could post the clip from Full Metal Jacket. But lets not forget SM's rant about Big Brother & The Holding Company using HAL to spy on us.

Quote:

Dave Bowman: Hello, HAL do you read me, HAL?
HAL: Affirmative, Dave, I read you.
Dave Bowman: Open the pod bay doors, HAL.
HAL: I'm sorry Dave, I'm afraid I can't do that.
Dave Bowman: What's the problem?
HAL: I think you know what the problem is just as well as I do.
Dave Bowman: What are you talking about, HAL?

HAL: This mission is too important for me to allow you to jeopardize it.

Dave Bowman: I don't know what you're talking about, HAL?

HAL: I know you and Frank were planning to disconnect me, and I'm afraid that's something I cannot allow to happen.

Dave Bowman: Where the hell'd you get that idea, HAL?

HAL: Dave, although you took thorough precautions in the pod against my hearing you, I could see your lips move.

Hey! Didn't Stanley Kurbrick direct and write the screenplay for both movies? Christ, I'm a genius

Now, don't make me start posting quotes from TEAM AMERICA: World Police
