Stereophile speaker measurements - HowTo

Can anyone tell me explicitly how to test a speaker cabinet using an accelerometer. I want to test a few speaker cabinets that I am making. For output I want to be able to come up with the cumulative spectral-decay plot as shown in each issue of Stereophile so that I can compare my work to that which I see published. I've never done this before, and I want to start with this measurement.

I need to know what the exact names of the components are that you use to do this work.

How hard would it be for me to learn how to use these tools effectively to create great cabinets?

How expensive are the tools?

Thanks!

I would recommend using the CLIOwin 7 Lite system from Audiomatica here.

http://www.cliowin.com/lite.htm

In addition they offer an accelerometer that plugs into the A or B inputs here:

Very quick and easy to use, it will give an example such as this:

Cost for the whole system would be just under $925 USD including the Lite version microphone. I hope this helps.

Yes it helps tremendously. Thank you.

I've been looking for over a month around and have bookmarks to at least twenty pieces of software from ARTA to WaveCapture for speaker development and measurement of T/S and never saw CLIOwin.

Thanks!
