We try to ensure that the writers are talking about the distance from the speaker's front baffle, where the drive-units are mounted.

Thank you for the reply I really enjoy reading your reviews every month. They have really helped me expand my knowledge and love of hi-fi. Please check your PM box for another more specific quesiton.
I figured that the front baffle was the measurement point of interest considering that is where the business happens! I have seen several manuals for speakers that show the measurement off the back of the enclosure and and not the front baffle.
