Seeking a Phono preamp under $500...

To pair with an Ortofon blue cartridge. I’m currently running a Musical Fidelity V90LPS.

It sounds great however, I’m looking to upgrade in the next few weeks.

I’m between the Vincent Pho8 and Mofi Studiophono.

Advice is appreciated!

Phono Preamp

I think that the V90LPS is the best available for under $500.

It is very good.

Interesting...

My issue is that when going from cds playing my Oppo via HDMI to my Arcam AVR 600 sounds really articulate and spacious... and going from my Pro-Ject to The MF to the Arcam sounds nice but doesn’t have the level of neutrality and clarity vs cd. Granted vinyls are warmer and more rich but I would like to try and lower the noise floor to get more of the mid ranges accentuated.

A local stereo shop by me told me the phono pre amp is the weak link in the chain vs the other components...being that I’m using solid interconnects. They recommended a Heed phono pre ...but I’m unfamiliar with the brand. One was $1500 and another was around $500.
