It's great to read about Roddy Frame here on Stereophile. As a person who still listens to Knife regularly (particularly the title track), I'm reminded regularly of his talents as a songwriter. And it sounds brilliant, too.
I wish to also note that the recent 30th anniversary re-release of High Land Hard Rain was rather disappointing to me, sonically. I actually prefer the first-gen release. (That can be said about in pretty much all cases these days. "Remastered" is the scariest word in English language...) With software-based remastering tools available today, to remaster is to often re-mix, it seems. And of course the de rigueur massive dynamic compression also comes into play...
Anyway, fine songs from another era. And I have to check out this new release as well. Thanks for bringing them to light.
