I own a pair of Revel F12's, finally broken in much to my wife's relief and patience. I have not heard the Monitor RS6, but I think I have a good handle on the sound of the F12's. I have driven them with an Adcom 545 100-watt amp and currently with an older Bryston 3B-ST. Preamp is a Linn Kolektor. Front end is my faithful Rega Planer 3 and also a Pioneer 563A DVD player.

Thanks for a very helpful post! On Thursday, I heard a pair of new B&W 6-series bookshelves which sounded terrific, although their soundstage was flatter than I'd expected/hoped. ST's review last fall of the Triangle Comete has made me very interested in them, but neither Triangle nor its U.S. distributor has responded to multiple inquiries regarding where I might be able to audition them.
