In my opinion REL is one of the few subwoofer companies that gets it right. A subwoofer should only augment the speakers, it should NEVER be heard as a discrete speaker. REL is the only subwoofer besides the Thiels that integrates completely seamlessly with the main speakers. A major part of this disappearing act is based on the set up procedure. Make sure that you READ AND FOLLOW the recommended set up procedure, or have your dealer set it up. The really amazing thing about the REL subs is how much wider and deep they make the soundstage.
www.legacyaudio.com they get it even righter. Ho ho Ho Santa Klause says so.
I have been using a REL Storm for about six years and couldn't be happier. Used first with a Golden Tube amp and La Scalas. Then with Dunlavy SM-1s and ARC elecs. Sounds great with both systems. Very flexible with any system IMHO. I don't think you can go wrong with REL. You don't know it's there until you turn it off. Your system just sounds better that you thought possible. Use the high level
inputs so the bass matches the sound from your main speakers.
