I hate to admit it, but I have never heard of a ADS Atelier P2 so cannot say anything about it other than enjoy.

Hi:

I think you'd get more help if this topic were in the Entry Level column, or in the Analogue equipment section, but no matter.

Anyway, as far as the cartridge, contact the Needle Doctor http://www.needledoctor.com/ Those guys are really great and have years of know how in all things audio.

You will also need to verify your receiver or amp has a Phono pre-amp in it. This is not an optional component- your TT will not work AT ALL through a normal Aux or line level input. If you do, cool, if not those guys can help you get an outboard one too. You may need to replace the belt in the TT as well. That's usually no big deal either. And while your at it, get the basic MoFi record cleaning brush and some basic fluid. A new or clean record can sound as quiet as a CD, but used ones will need extra love.

Congrats on your entry in the world of vinyl- it's way fun and there are (depending on where you live) literally tons of good quality used LPs out there, as well as many new ones. For best prices on new, I really like the Amazon.com Vinyl records section:
