Maybe it was.... Many, MANY moons ago ?
Its probably not current flavour any more ?
Fine, let us assume that it was reviewed 5 years ago (which is when the unit first appeared....I think). Why then does it not show up on the Stereophile index history of reviews?
If it was not formally reviewed, maybe it was in a column by Mikey, Tom/Sam, or somebody else. In that case, which issue do they write about it? I would like to read the column.

Jake, the only thing I can think of is that Acoustic Sounds/Manley have seen a future, as yet unpublished, review that rates this component as "Class A." The "Stereophile Class A" logo says "new rated" in the fine print. Otherwise, it is a mistake by Acoustic Sounds. I doubt if it is meant to be intentionally fraudulant, but I agree with you -- it is cause for concern and ought to be straightened out. Counterfeit ratings don't help anyone, least of all the consumer.
I would also note that the list itself seems flawed, for example searching in integrated amps, I found only the krell 300i listed, but the 400XI was definatly reviewed a few years agoin, and is currently a recommended class A recommended component.
The online version of RC is not as complete a reference as the print published reviews. There are many components that have been reviewed that aren't on the online menu. From what I can gather, JA has pretty much kept up with recent reviews and adds older reviews periodically. This may involve the changing of hands over the years or simply a starting point from which to work backwards as time and resources permit.
I'll glance through my back issues and see if I can find the review and issue information.
I'm betting it was reviewed.
Yeah, I would like to think that the Acoustic Sounds webmaster is just blowing it, but if it is a mistake, somebody should fix it.
The Acoustic Sounds webmaster probably just meant the Steelhead or something. Not that the Manley Wave isnt a bitchin' unit, I'm sure it is, but having that rating stuck on a webstore without anything to prove its authenticity is misleading.
