The feelings about lo-fi expressed by Cassie are shared by bands and fans alike. Except.... I did have the opportunity to purchase a few hundred(!) lo-fi CD's and vinyl 7"/10" records in Hollywood circa 1995 to 1997, and observed a few of those make the jump to "big" indie labels and better recordings. A few of those did better, but in the majority of cases, a lot of life went out of the music as well. So the question for me is, how do you bring the young ladies (in most of my cases) into the bigger venue, pretty much always run by men, and have them feel so comfortable and at ease that they are able to fully express their music, humor, all that stuff?
Answer: You do the tech stuff far in the background, but let the ladies run everything else and stay out of the way. Now what are the chances of that?
