I love the Epos ELS 3s. Use them in a small office set up. Very "musical." Haven't heard the PSBs, but both received great reviews here.

I have a Music Hall A.25.2 Integrated Amp, the MMF Music Hall Phono Pack, and a Rega P1. Sounds great. I think I may soon upgrade the platter on the P1 to the glass platter, and then replace the stylus with an Ortofon 30.

I started out with the same set-up as Chris - Music Hall A25.2 & CD 25.2 pushing the Epos ELS 3. The room was about 12'x12'. Eventually I moved to a much larger room and replaced the ELS 3s with ELS 303s which have more bass to them.

Haven't heard the PSBs but they have gotten good reviews.

Mike does point out something worth noting: he updated to 303s, which have more bass. This is definitely an inherent shortcoming of any bookshelf speaker, I suspect. As great as the Epos ELS 3s sound, if you are going to miss the heavy lows of a big speaker, wait until you can afford a floorstanding model.

A very good thought. I never understood folks who got bookshelf speakers, with limited bass, and a subwoofer to increase the bass. A subwoofer give you sub-bass sounds, so the bass is still missing. What has been gained?
