Hello Fusion
Excellent loudspeakers.I am not the expert here on such things, but in the unlucky event you need to source new drivers, you should replace both not just one.
i dont mind changing both the driver but i am just afraid that the 17W75EXT driver from dynaudio is not the same spec as the drivers used in the hales cos some speaker manufacturer buys the driver from other companies and change the specification of it such as d Focal tweeter in Wilson audio and also d scan speak ring radiator in Alpine.
If the specification is indeed different from the original driver then there might be some matching problem between the driver and the crossover.
I am totally out of idea of what to do with d defective driver.
Yes,i know what you mean.I suppose contacting the manufacturer is out of the question since Hales closed the doors some time ago.Hmmmm, usually manufacturers, appoint a dealer or someone to handle their service parts.Did you try calling the shop you bought them from ?
Oh and another thing Fusion but this time i really cannot help you since i am located in Europe. You could allways re-coil the drivers. You know, have the coils wound again by some expert and by "expert",i mean companies who it is their job to undertake such things,They should be able to know the "characteristics" of the coil fitted to your hales drivers and closely match the new windings to the same specifications.Someone else here might be able to give you an adress in the States.Again, you need to do this to both drivers.
thanx for d help bro
i have tried contacting the shop but the problem is i bought the item second hand and the shop that sold it to the first owner has already been closed down.
well, i think my only choice now is to recoil the driver. Thanks for your help
No problem Fusion.BTW,why don't you contact an ex hales dealers? Any dealer ! he must be a real jack ass not to help you.I mean,if i was an ex dealer of a company that went bankrupt and someone call me and said he/she has a piece of equipment that needs servicing etc and could help him.her,i'd do it !
Maybe someone at QSC can help you:

i have tried looking into QSC website. I dont think they have d components cos Hales is not even in any of its website, not even in the support site. Anyway i will send it for recoiling and see how it turns out. Thanks for your help.
I have two email addresses for Paul Hales, but they're both pretty old. Still, you can try them: lphales@ix.netcom.com and lph@msn.com
