I haven't heard the Tablettes, but have heard other lines of ProAc speakers, which have been uniformly excellent. I know the Tablettes have a great reputation, though. Many people praise it for sounding bigger than their size, so I think that might be a nice solution for you, especially as (if I remember correctly) you live in an NYC apartment. If you can get it at a great price, then I think you'll be happy.
Thanks very much. I grabbed them today (I got to listen beforehand), and they do sound very good (definitely nicer than any other speaker I've owned).
Also, I have my Marantz PM7001 on the way. I think I'm going to have to go with the Rega P1 for now, budget-wise, or I won't be able to buy any music (without sleeping on the couch for awhile).
Dude, bro. I'm so psyched for you. I think you totally have a smart system set up. And kudos to you for having the balls to pull the trigger without hesitation. Sometimes, analysis paralysis takes hold and that's when you dive off the cliff into the deep deep cavernous hole which might or might not have water at the bottom.
Thanks . Well, I still second-guess myself (should I have spent the extra $500 for the TT)? But I just accepted that there are no irreversible mistakes. Now, if/when I do upgrade to a P3, or $10,000 speakers, etc., I'll appreciate the nuances.
The advice on here is extremely helpful, and I feel comfortable with what I'm getting.
Good for you, judicata. Enjoy your system. I hope it leads to lots of great music discoveries.
