...About equal parts the P-7 and No.380S. You will find a comparison between these 2 preamps in the forthcoming March issue.
Thanks John! I really wanted to know about the preamplifier as I have experienced the preamplifiers changing the sound signature of the whole system. I excitingly wait the comparison between Mark Levinson No.380S and Simaudio Moon Evolution P7. The fact that you still use Mark Levinson No.380S after so many years as your reference really interests me. These days I am also looking to buy a new preamplifier and also considering Mark Levinson No.380S.

Priority one for me is to upgrade my ML 38 to a 380S. Everything else is on the backburner.

addendum to prior post above..
I know that an upgrade from a 38 to a 380S would give me a new faceplate.. but the chassis is a little discolored from age.. this is common with the ML gear.
I was wondering would ML replace the one piece top cover on my unit to match the new faceplate. Or would it be more cost effective to just sell my 38 and purchase a newer used 380S?
What can I say... I'm OCD.
