These guys definitely get their underwear from Kmart. Also, they seem to be big fans of Cher. Stick Stickly is a cover band for Strictly Dickley.
Yeah, I know it really is a joke what passes for "music" these days in the youth market, but I think the video and music is probably meant to be taken seriously. Because I've heard this same crap before. It's like a nice festering combination of death metal, headbanger metal (ie. check out the "cool" Metallica pose), and emo. With a background of cheesy, low-budget visuals and clicheed camera shots, shot at the old farmhouse down the street, next to where the drummer lives. (Hint: the young woman with the stud in her face and her head in her hands symbolizes "angst". You'd be surprised how much of the target audience won't get that).
While the "music" may be meant to be taken seriously and the video is not a parody, I don't think the band itself is real. I believe the band is fake, and that the members of the band are programmed animatronic players. You know, like you find at Disney World or Chuck E. Cheese's. If you freeze frame at 1m11s, you can even see a wire poking out the back of one of the guitar players. Another dead giveaway; they've named themselves after a talking popsicle stick from the Nicklodeon channel. Think about that.
Oh, come on guys. While it ain't my cup of tea it's not intended to be either. Who among us doesn't have a musical skeleton or two in the closet of our youth?
Hmmm.... is "The Culture Club" a skeleton?
I don't know if it's a skeleton but it's certainly in the closet. Sorry, it was just too good to pass up.
As a kid I listened to and enjoyed hairspray-metal so I certainly have my share of skeletons.
...
it got removed. I am clearly missing out on the fun. What's it called?
Attack Attack by "Stick Stickly"
Which was a spinoff of Tora! Tora! by Strictly Dickley. Which, in turn, is why it is not on YouTube any longer. You can thank me later.
What got removed? My Haysi Fantayzee pic? What's what called?
