If, as you say, it is only now that John Atkinson is "finally convinced . . . that class-D designs need not produce compromised sound quality," then I'd like to ask why the Power Plant T+A class D integrated amplifier was given a Class A rating by Stereophile so long ago. Its sound quality was seriously compromised in the mids and highs, and it is because of that ill-considered review that I no longer subscribe and rarely pay attention to Stereophile any more.
