First, listen carefully to what you are seeing and try and tell if you are actually hearing any problems related to what you have observed. If you can't hear anything it may not really be a problem, however try these steps anyway:
1) make sure everything is level. 2) make sure your arm and weight are setup correctly. 3) make sure the record is truly flat. 4)make sure it's not the mat. If it's the record's fault you're out of luck somewhat, although a record clamp would certainly help. There are some decent ones made for Rega 'tables.
Good luck!
Thanks! Will do. I can't hear anything, and I've tried various records (brand new and used). I wanted to make sure it would screw with the cart/stylus or records.
Thanks again
What "wobbles"? The platter itself or just the tonearm tracking a disc? Can you see any deviation from flat in the platter when it is spinning without any disc or mat on it? Start with just the bare platter turning and then add the mat and then a disc to determine where the wobble exists. If this is consistent on all discs, you have a problem. If it is just the disc which causes the arm to "float", you have lots of warped records. If the platter is not flat - difficult to do with a glass platter unless you've set it up improperly, glass is self-leveling which is one reason Rega uses a glass platter - then you should call your dealer and ask for their advice. The platter should be absolutely flat. Your records should be flat but probably are not.
The P2 doesn't ship with the glass platter anymore, so it is some wood composite. Through various experiments, it appears that it itself wobbles. I'll give the dealer a call and I'm sure they'll swap it out for me.
Thanks!
