Nothing says you have to get all your components from the same manufacturer. In fact, I wouldn't as I don't think that any one company does a great job with all these separate parts.

The Music Hall a15.3 is great and probably the pick under $900 at $550. I would look at the Music Hall MMF 2.2 with an Ortofon 2M Blue or a Rega RP1 with the 2M Blue. Both are about $450 and the 2M Blue is $200. The two tables sound distinctly different. The Music Hall would be neutral, balanced and very accurate. It is very good for all types of music. The Rega will be less balanced but is known for superb pace, rhythm and timing. It has a forward upper midrange that Is truly exceptional. It stands out IMO on as truly amazing l for Jazz an Clasical. Very good for rock music and awful for hip hop. In fact, if you listen to hip hop, don't get a Rega table.

For a CD player, your best choice would be an Oppo BDP 103 assuming you have a TV. It has the best DAC of any unit in the price range and at $499 is an awesome unit. At $1700 plus cost of cables, I don't think you could do better.

If you go with the Rega table, you would only need one set of RCA cables. You would need a USB cable to connect a PC to the Oppo directly and it is DLNA compliant. I am not sure what you need the digital coax for. Audioquest makes equally good cables compared to kimber. The Golden Gate is a fine line of cables from them.

All:

I own a Rega P1 (prior version of current RP1), and with an ortofon Red 2m (less in price and precision than blue), but this table kicks some serious Bass; at least with the 2M red. I in fact prefer my turntable to my $1,000 DAC and digital files if in fact I want to boom some rap.
