Ok, new user here, go gentle!

So, I've had a chequered history with cans - some ok, some awful - ONE brilliant.

That's the IXOS Ministry of Sound branded DJ1002 cans. Best I ever used, and I've had two pairs of them. Can't get them any more though.

They're also not terribly comfortable for long term listening and my current pair are reaching the end of their life now.

So, I need a new pair.

My requirements:

Large cans - big earpads which stop the ear touching anything. I want complete freedom with my ears and pure comfort so they don't get pressed for two hours and be agony.

Superb sound quality - they have to be able to give me full range of sound and handle high levels of bass at high volume - like the bass sound apps on a PC can give to a rig on top of its own hardware.

And, as said, budget is no more than £100UK.

I had a pair of Sennheiser HD-280 pros but frankly they were garbage and overpriced - £80 and they couldn't handle even a quarter of the input the DJ1002s could. Bass is very important, so is comfort. As is volume capacity.

Any recommendations gratefully received. Thanks.
