I have no specific experience with that particular model but with every receiver or surround processor that I used the video switching there was a reduction in picture quality, sometimes fairly subtle but many times dramatic. For best results video signals should go straight to the display device. Video switching is built into these products for convenience, not to improve picture quality. To me it only makes sense that anytime a signal goes into and out of a circuit there is some loss or change to the signal so if it is not strictly necessary I always advocate bypassing video switching circuitry in an AV piece.
