Monitor Audio RS6 v.s. Wharfedale Evo 40

Monitor Audio RS6 v.s. Wharfedale Evo 40
Does anyone have any opinions on what would be a better fit for classic rock, country & jazz? A Music Hall 25.2 Amp/CD combo would the source and drive for this system.
Thanks -Z

Re: Monitor Audio RS6 v.s. Wharfedale Evo 40

I own the Wharfedale Evo 40's and owned the 30s as well, and used to listen to them on NAD C541i CDP and C370 and C270 Amps Bridged.

They have a nice detailed and sweet top end and mid range. Lots of bass and it goes quite deep. They aren't the fastest sounding speakers out there but in a medium sized room, they are nice, but they do put out a bit too much bass for a small room.

I have listened to a pair of Monitor Audio RS6s at a dealers and found them far too bright in the top end, but they were bouncy in the mids and bass and lively sounding. The Dealer found them very detailed, rather than too bright.

But to my ears they were overly bright sounding compared to the Evo 40's.

On your equiptment, you will get two different sounds completely I am afraid depending on which pair of speakers you purchase.

In this case, they really do sound very different to one another, only a personal audtion can tell which you will favour.
