Since you brought him up, I have a question about DUP. Does anyone know what he did/does for a living?

He installs and services commercial imaging equipment.

I see DUP more as the Jacob Marley character, dragging those chains around; chains with every link forged on this forum...warning the surviving forum members "it's not to late to clean up your act and conform...my fate does not have to be yours"....etc. More power to the campaigners who want him back....but once he's back it may be "what were we thinking??". I didn't read everything he posted here but he seemed to be on retainer 24-7 to rain on just about every thread...downpower on every thread.

He ranted against what he saw as snake oil and general bullshit permeating through the high end industry from manufacturers to dealers to reviewers.

Sadly, there are an awful lot of those.

He also started a lot of new threads to rain on what he perceived as silly or downright stoopid. I agree that DUP could be over the top but, like online porn, if you don't like the subject, then don't click the link.

...and with all the style and grace of a junkyard dog. I was never on the receiving end of those rants so I found his vitriol somewhat entertaining. Lord knows that this industry is for the most part founded on bs and I tend to be more than a little skeptical myself. If you aren't careful you can get caught up in this very expensive game of dungeons and dragons.

With the exception of a handful of forum members DUP pissed in nearly everyone's cereal. Contrary to what some would LIKE to believe DUP was not banned because of WHAT he said but HOW he said it, which was with a total disrespect for the beliefs of others. Ethan's stances run contrary to the beliefs of the majority here but he states them in a much more appropriate manner. I, like the silent majority of the forum feel that it's a better place without DUP. But I still wish him a happy holidays.

Really, man. I suggested a while ago, that JV be limited to the May 2007 section. Alas, my pleas have fallen on deaf ears.
