I currently have two Krell KAV 250a amps & a Krell KRC-3 pre-amp & Krell Kpe Ref phono stage that I want to sell and replace them with a McIntosh MAC 6700 receiver. The KRC-3 pre-amp doesn't have enough imputes for my sources and it would be nice to have everything in just one unit.

My friends think I'm crazy to replace my Krell with the McIntosh. Their experience with McIntosh dates back to the 70's & 80's stuff. Isn't the new McIntosh better?

What do y'all think? I need help with this. Am I really stepping down a lot in sound quality?
