A friend of a friend o vited me over to showcase his new purchase- Marten Coltrane speakers. I never heard of them before, and was not prepared to be blown away- but I was. He had them set up with McIntosh power amp and preamp, and we played some good jazz on a vinyl... I thought it sounded heavenly. Coltraine series are far beyond my budget- but maybe someone here heard their offerings more within reach?
The marten range is very nice, I own the Parker Duo which are the standmounts in the second level up, they sound very nice and work very well in my smallish 4m x 4m room. They replaced a pair of Revel f208 floorstanders. I’ve also heard the Oscar Duo which are the cheapest new Marten you can buy, they sound very lively and have incredible bass from a small sized box. They have done over the years a number of new discontinued models, so be on the lookout for a s/h bargain if you

Thanks! Going to audition Django L and XL next week. The dealer also has a pair of monitors (Oscar?)- everything else needs to be ordered blindly, and the prices are premium.
