Have you thought about the Cambridge Audio 740A?
I've used a PM7001 extensively , and in my opinion , no , it would likely not be worth it. Without hearing it though, I cannot condemn it.
While I have little use for the tuner, I found the Outlaw RR2150 to be a superior unit in listening pleasure . It offers everything the Marantz does and more as far as connections and a/b speaker switching.
The only way you'll ever know much of anything in audio is to listen for yourself.
Hey Thanks for you input guys. I work for a retailer in Australia and my problem is one I can't seem to find a lot of the gear that has been suggested on this site and secondly there is almost 0 in Aus as far as resonable info on what we do have available. And in general most of the other retailers here don't carry stereo gear its all home theatre recievers! So for me the only way I really can get to listen to any of this is to buy it or get it through a Hi-end audio specialist who has it which means I'm paying heaps more than if I could buy it in my own store and being an absolute cheap skate I dont wanna do that HA! Amps I can get easily are from Marantz, Onkyo, Yamaha, Pioneer and a heap that I wouldnt consider in a blue fit eg Sony or panasonic! But if you could suggest anything in these ranges that might be worth a look??
