Looking to build my first hi-fi sound system

Hello everyone,
I am trying to get into hi-fi audio and everywhere I look the ELAC uni-fi UB5's are highly praised and would really like to get a pair of those(I could get them for around $340) but I see they are very power hungry and any "proper" amps that I see suggested online start at at least double the price of the speakers.
I am aware that the weakest link in your system will determine how well the system sounds and I am wondering if it's possible to get an amp around $250 that the speakers will be able to take advantage of or is that just a dream?(unfortunately my budget does not allow me for more at this time, and my wife would probably kill me anyway).

As far as integrated amplifiers in that price range, I woukd highly recommend Cambridge Audio Topaz SR10. If you can't find it (it was discontinued two years ago) new, they pop up in classifieds in excellent condition very often.

As I look online I see that it's rated at 85 W at 8 ohms.
Excuse my ignorance but would that mean that it's half at 4 ohms or doubled?

4 ohm

This amplifier can support a 4-ohm load when driving only one pair of speakers. In terms of the wattage, at 4 ohm it will give you around 120 watt. Neither double nor half.
