Not familiar with those speakers and components but perhaps room acoustics are contributing to your problem.
Have you experimented with speaker positioning? Ensure enough distance away from walls and especially corners? What are your room dimensions?
Try reversing your speaker connections and see if that helps any.
This is an interesting suggestion. If the Diana Krall CD is on Impulse!, the recording might be mastered with inverted polarity, which might result in diffused sounding bass. Inverting polarity makes a huge difference in focus on my Coltrane and Rollins Impulse! reissues (depending on the cut.)
