5% of my music collection is jazz. I very seldom listen to the same Jazz CD more than a few times. Most just don't hook me. That said, when I was five years old, my dad brought home an album and played it every night after super until he wore it out. I heard that album so man times it became part of my life. I still play that album at least once a week without fail. I've never taken it for granted, and listen to it like it's the first time I'm hearing it each time I play it.
"At the Pershing: But Not for Me" by Ahamd Jamal
It was one of his first and the only one of his I care for.
The other Jazz CD I play more than others is called, "Intensive Care" by Paul Smith, Ray Brown & Louie Bellson. This CD also has very good sound, it was released on CD under another name, but it sounds as good as the LP to me.
Very nice choices- Music.

The greatest New Orleans street band that ever existed:
Tuba Skinny, the Kings and Queens of Royal Street, busking there every week despite world tours and 10 albums mining the fertile ground of early and obscure Jazz and Country Blues - true musicologists who make you get up and dance, how rare is THAT? Check their hundreds of youtube videos - I listen to them EVERY DAY and I am not alone!
Stuck at home during the Coronavirus outbreak and was reading through Stereophile's past Recordings of the Month and came across August 2018's Gerswin's Rhapsodyby by Kirill Gerstein. After a quick download from HDTracks I am wallowing in musical bliss! Mr. Rubinson has my gratitude.
