- Onkyo TX-SR674 (receiver)
- Ascend CBM-340 SE (Fronts)
- Ascend CBM-170 SE (Rears)
- Ascend CBM-340c (Center)
- HSU STF-2 (Sub)
- OPPO DV-981HD (DVD Player)

These were just what was suggested to me (NOTwhat i will buy.

I'm looking to go for midrange pricing (not $568 for the two front speakers, like these ascend). I won't need big sound because of my constraints. Does anyone have suggestions?

Save some money and buy a Home Theater In A Box system from Best Buy for your bedroom. I'm not being tacky, I'm serious. Onkyo has several to choose from that will do the trick and the difference in performance with movies in comparison to what has been suggested to you probably isn't worth the extra money.

Small rooms need small gear and have the benefit of loading the room with sound very easily. Big speakers and mega watt amplifiers would be a complete waste and probably not even sound as good.

Don't fight the room...take advantage of the small space and save the money.

okay, saving money is always a plus. thanks for the input on HTIB, guess i overlooked it since i was SO set on going all out..haha.

Here's some HTIB I've found: -Yamaha YHT-670
-Onkyo HT-S894

Looking for 1080p, any suggestions, comments, or anything? Thanks for the help thus far!

If you have a few Big Box stores in your area where you can listen (even briefly) to a few systems then you will probably be happier with your purchase.

I'm not a surround sound fan and bought an Onkyo HTIB for my living room after briefly listening to 4 or 5 other brands. To me, there wasn't enough difference in sound between the brands to make my decision complicated. Onkyo just seemed to be less offensive in the upper register.

If you want to stretch the budget and are a bit more serious about your home theater, give Denon a look. Denon takes audio a little more serious, even in their budget home theater stuff. At the top of their line, they make some seriously good stuff.

Perhaps spending a little less money now for an HTIB would pay off by having a competent system on the cheap while you learn what aspects are important to you when you decide to spend more serious money. Just a thought.
